Wangû Gatonye is a LL.M. candidate at UCLA School of Law, specialising in Human Rights and Technology Law, and is a Health and Human Rights Fellow 2025-2026. She is a Nairobi-born Attorney, legal-researcher, and writer whose work sits at the intersection of international human rights law, technology governance, and gender justice, with a particular focus on the African experience within a global context.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Women’s Studies, with a minor in Intercultural Studies, from Brock University in Ontario, Canada, and an LL.B. from Cardiff University in Wales, United Kingdom.
Wangû brings a multidisciplinary, intersectional, and feminist legal lens to her research and writing, with interests in international adjudication, emerging technologies, and policy reform. Her work reflects a commitment to rigorous legal analysis and to ensuring that legal and technological frameworks produce meaningful, real-world impact.
