Nadia Banteka is a Lecturer in Law at The Hague University. There, she has developed and teaches courses in International Criminal Law, Human Rights, and Public International Law. Nadia has published and presented on topics of International Criminal Law, Human Rights, Global Governance, and Cultural Heritage and the Law. Her current research focuses on the evolving nature of Customary International Law formation, Trans-governmental Networks, Global Governance and International Relations theory.
Nadia is also a Dean’s Scholar and S.J.D. Candidate at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Nadia holds a LL.B from the Democritus University of Thrace, a LL.M in International Criminal Justice and Armed Conflict from the University of Nottingham School of Law, and a LL.M (Distinction) in International Law and Global Governance from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was pronounced a Dean’s Scholar and was the recipient of the Excellence Award. Nadia’s past work experiences include serving as a Legal Advisor to the Defense Counsel at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), a Research Assistant at the University of Nottingham Human Rights Law Center, and a Research Assistant at the Network of Legal Tools Outsourcing Partners of The International Criminal Court of the Norwegian Center for Human Rights.
