Biography

Professor Ahmad Aubais Al-Fatlawi is a specialist in International Public law and holds a PhD in public law from the Higher Institute for Legal Studies at the Lebanese University 2012; currently, he is a professor at the Faculty of Law/ University of Kufa. Also a lecturer at Al Almain Institute for Postgraduate studies
In 2017, he held an associate diploma from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
In 2018, Professor Al-Fatlawi participated in the expert group to update the comments on the Third Geneva Convention of 1949 and was chosen by the ICRC as one of the peer reviewers on the guideline for protecting the natural environment in times of armed conflict in 2019.
